Why they didn't just call this "The Mad Hatter in Wonderland" is beyond me, cause that's still all I see going on here. And I don't know why it bothers me SOOO much.
My roommate (I keep linking her dA, even though she has nothing there, in an attempt to revive it!) put it nicely though: "It feels like some weird attempt at career revival using fan service gone horribly wrong. But his career isn't dead... so...?"

I don't know. Maybe it's just because I don't really find Depp!Hatter appealing, or Depp!Wonka left a bad taste in my mouth... or because I find every other character in Wonderland more exciting than some nut-job in a silly hat. Seriously, if it was the Mock Turtle or the Carpenter in every other scene I would probably be thrilled. And I guess I'm also afraid that this is going to turn out like Wonka again where everyone was like "It looked pretty... but Johnny Depp was hella creepy." (Actual quote from like Ebert or some shit.) And I'd hate to see that happen to Alice.

And please, Mr. Burton, no daddy issues. Please? Just this once.

But besides all that, the style and cg and other characters make me glee beyond belief. I'm still going to the most midnighty showing of this and may even dress up or some silly thing like that.

$10 Commissions
Hey everybody! So I've decided to start selling some avatar commissions like my avatar () and my dear roommate's (). They're $10 each so if you'd like one, read below:

Step by step walkthrough!

• Step 1: Choose your gender, boy or girl.


• Step 2: Choose eye shape, either normal or squinty.


• Step 3: Choose three expressions for animation. Blink and eyes looking right and left is added automatically, but I'll leave an. Any combination of eye brows and lips can be added, just tell me something like A eyebrows with G lips or just give me an expression and I'll try to match it. I can also create different mouths/eyebrows, and as long as they're relatively simple and you allow me to use them for other customers it won't cost extra.


• Step 4: Describe your self/character. Reference pictures are also very helpful. Don't forget to include things like hair style, skin color or make-up (I love putting make-up on these things!!) Please keep in mind that big hair will make resizing difficult and long hair may be cut off. But you'll still get them in the fullsize! And if your character is super complicated or has props I may ask that you pay an additional $5. See the FAQ for more info on that.


• Step 5: Choose sizes and formats. Animated will always be in a .gif, normal will be in a .png unless you tell me otherwise. Just tell me something like "Original non animated, small animated and medium non animated .jpg." Non-animated will always use the first frame unless you specify otherwise (like tell me "Use the 2nd expression.") And please limit yourself to just what you know you're going to use. I could make them in every format under the sun for you, but if you're not going to use them all, that would just be a waste of time.


• Step 6: Note me the form! I'll reply to let you know if there's any questions I have or changes or what not and give you my paypal address. Once I receive payment confirmation I'll start your commission!


• Step 7: Be patient.


• Step 8: Receive your avatar and go put it everywhere that needs a little icon or in forum signatures or what not. Whatever you want! It's now yours! Just be sure to let people know who made it should they ask (or link me somewhere if you'd like.)

FAQ

• Q: Will you do anthro/furry characters?
  A: Yes! Within reason. I will let you know upon accepting your commission, but depending on complexity it may cost an additional $5.


• Q: My character has crazy long/big hair. Is that okay? Will it fit? Or they have a hat!
  A: I have no problem with big hair, but when size constraints do . So that may mean I need to crop it or tame it. Please keep this in mind. As for hats, no problem, just keep in mind the size thing. 50x50 isn't always easy to fit Lincoln hats in.


• Q: Can you add in and animated objects or props?
  A: For an additional $5, yes. Please note me first though to see if its doable. I'm not going to try and fit a tractor into you 50x50 avatar, sorry. An example of an object that would work though is a cigar that smokes and moves with the character's expression.


• Q: I'd like an expression that is not there.
  A: If it combines any of the expressions listed then just put that in the form. If it involves adding something new and/or additional animation (like waggly eyebrows) just put it in the form and I'll let you know if there will be a problem. Usually, if it's fairly simple and you allow me to continue using it for other commissions I won't charge extra. If you DO happen to want something you want to keep exclusive to your character (like their trademark "BLING" grill with diamonds) it will cost $5 extra.


• Q: I want a completely new beefy man face with bug eyes. Can you do that?
  A: I'm currently not taking commissions of this kind, sorry. Additionally, please keep in mind the style of these avatars. If you give me a manly man character, he will most likely end up looking like a cutey boy and please don't expect any different.


• Q: Are you taking any other payment besides Paypal?
  A: Paypal is easiest for both of us (usually) but if you have no other options, I will consider accepting a money order sent via snail mail. Just keep in mind that this will delay your commission as we wait for our lovely mail system to work.


• Q: How long will you be taking these commissions for?
  A: I'm not going to put any specific times here, but I am hoping to offer these for a while. I have no plans at this time to close them down but we'll see how things go.

Haven't gotten around to reupping my sub, so no more pretty journal. It's okay, I was getting sick of it anyway. P

Work has been going good. Decorating cookies is pretty fun. Life has been busy busy busy but I've found little bits of time to do artwork here and there so I should be updating with some stuff soon. I've started on (yet another) comic project, but one I'm more comfortable with writing and such, so maybe I'll get some of that out soon.

AHHHHH It's friggin' cold here!
